On 6January 2014 Uno introduced an improved timetable for its 653 New Greens – Welwyn Garden City service, largely to improve the reliability. It was quickly realised that the original timetable for the new route introduced at the beginning of September 2013 was not robust enough. The new improved timetable seems to have provided a significant improvement, with performance continuing to be closely monitored by Uno using real time technology.
In addition to the above, Uno are implementing a number of other enhancements to particular services which will come into effect from 31 March.
- 652 St Albans – Bricket Wood is to revert back to its previous route through Chiswell Green to reinstate the link from How Wood/Bricket Wood to the Midway Surgery
- 622 Hatfield – Watford will have a revised service. From the end of March the 622 will start to serve BRE (Building Research Establishment), and will coincide with the installation of a new bus stop at the site, which is a fantastic development for all staff working there.
- Adjustments are to be made to the 601 and 602 services, which will provide a 15 minute frequency along Hatfield Road.
- Routes 658 and 659 will be merged into one route (658) and will become an hourly service between St Albans – Napsbury Park – London Colney – Shenley and Borehamwood. To improve reliability this new route will no longer operate between St Albans, Fleetville and Hatfield.
In response to public demand, Hertfordshire County Council has agreed to fund an additional early morning and evening journey on route 658 between London Colney and Borehamwood for a six month trial period.
- 657 Redbourn – Harpenden – St Albans – Hatfield timetable has been revised, and the service will no longer serve the Galleria, town centre and rail station in Hatfield but instead will operate from deHavilland campus to the business park. This has been done as a reliability measure.
