Network St Albans has been developed from the work of the St Albans Quality Network Partnership (QNP). Network St Albans is a body comprising Hertfordshire County Council, St Albans City & District Council, St Albans Chamber of Commerce, the University of Hertfordshire, local bus and train operators and groups representing passengers.
The main aim of Network St Albans is to achieve improvements to local passenger transport services for those who live and work in St Albans and the surrounding area, thereby providing viable alternatives to car use and promoting sustainable travel. This has been possible through the financial support from the Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF) which has been obtained from the Department for Transport (DfT) specifically for this project, secured by Hertfordshire County Council in a bid entitled ‘BIGHERTSBIGIDEAS’.
